"The most important thing about having goals is having one"
Abert F. Geoffrey

So I did it. I exercised every day last week. Yippee! The whole plan thing actually worked really well. I wasn't able to stick to it to the letter but I think having the intention is what really counts for me.

Weight Loss Weekly is a collaborative blogging adventure where Sunny, Joie and little old me set some healthy lifestyle goals each week and document our progress together.

Check out how the other gals went this week with their mission to get things moving.

Sunny: "I guess I don't hate exercising as much as I thought I did. I did pretty darn well this week, for me..." more at ThatExtra20Pounds

Joie: "Monday's inner monologue: "Uggh! Six o'clock already? What was I thinking?" Did I achieve my exercise goal? Find out at Joie de vivre: An amateur gourmet's guide

Rain seemed to be the big issue but I managed to negotiate the weather and get things done. My favorite exercise moment this week was a long muddy bush walk with the Soul Sistah yesterday after getting flooded out from The Folks' place and finally making it here amongst the mist and the trees.

Here are a few things I found helped me reach my goal this week:
  • Planning when I would fit in my exercise for the next day.
  • Realising that something is better than nothing
  • Exercising in the morning, gets it done, gets me moving and gets me feeling good all day long
  • Making the plan, I felt it set me up for the week with a clear goal in mind
So this week the daily exercise goal continues and this is my general aim for the week:
  • Today 30min on stationary bike and Day 1 week 2 onehundredpushups
  • Tuesday bush walk
  • Wednesday bush walk and Day 2 week 2 pushups
  • Thursday 30min stationary bike
  • Friday 30min elliptical trainer Day 3 week 2 pushups
  • Saturday 1hr walk
  • Sunday 1 hr walk
Share away in the comments, are you setting some new goals and working towards reaching them? Let's cheer each other on and make those changes we know we really want.

  1. TOTALLY cheering you on here- that's wonderful. Love that feeling of overcoming challenges.

My challenge is training to run a race this summer. It WILL happen. Am determined. Determination is key to achievement!

  2. Congrats on meeting your goal, that's very inspirational!

I'm trying to work a little more variety into my routine--always a challenge since I'm such a creature of habit.

  3. love it good job take pics of your bush-we don't have a bush here! walks for us, I mowed the yard, but always try and take a walk with my little one good for both of us

  4. that's awesome, congratulations on reaching your goals! we're all doing great!!

  5. What a great week! And it looks like you have another great one planned.

You've hit on the key, figuring out what's working, what's not working, and eliminate the difference.

  6. "Realising that something is better than nothing"
I will keep this REALLY GOOD in mind.
The only sport I enjoy is Yoga.

  7. Awesome! You rock girl! I suggest you take the thing you enjoyed the most (the bush walk), and do it more often. I think it's important to incorporate enjoyment into our exercise.

  8. I hear you on the rain bit! I'm going to take your advice about planning so that I actually start running regularly. Congratulations on the award and thanks for passing it on! What do I need to do?

  9. Sounds like a great week of exercise. This past week has been a similar week for me, with exercise happening every day. It has been a long time since I could say that.

  10. Hey you guys, thanks for the support. It's amazing how much more motivated I feel knowing you're all out there cheering me on!

  11. go you on the exercising every day!

I AM setting new goals around here.

details coming when they are habits not merely vague plans :)

  12. Hi Bernie!
I agree. Realizing that something is better than nothing and exercising in the morning seem to work. I've decided to do it first thing and get it over with. If weather is nice, I'll walk with my to school and then continue in a big detour to get back home. If weather sucks, stay at home and do something, like even stretching. That's the plan. Day one went well :)

  13. I guess its just hard to start something you're not used to like exercising but once you start it you'll find out that it's not that bad after all. And for some time you'll find yourself getting used to it already.
